Avuvi
- Avuvis are the aboriginal forest dogs of the Gbé people of West Africa. They
fall into the class of pariah dogs. The name "Avuvi" means "little dog" in the
Gbé languages (Mina, Aja, Fon and Éwé) of West Africa. The type is found in and
near the forests of the West African coastal belt.
The Avuvi Project
- The goal of the project is to import and maintain a small, viable population
of aboriginal dogs from West Africa. We are seeking people who would be willing
to participate by providing homes for some of these dogs.
